Manifesto Top 25

Our Manifesto is to curate design. Domaine Luxe | Palm Beach Luxury Interior Design

OUR MANIFESTO: CURATE DESIGN.

Curate. Elevate. Invigorate. Redefine. Surprise.

The art of the collected mix. We love icons like Ikea as well as Knoll. We understand the difference in quality, yet we've mastered the balance between high and low interior design. It is not the amount you spend on an object, but how you utilize it. We recognize the iconic classics of design, exceptional craftsmanship, and the natural, embracing materials for permanence, that are built to last. We also identify interior design trends before they become commonplace through decades of experience, research, and an enthusiasm to acquire new design knowledge. Here are our concepts and recommendations for living well through design, presented as a detailed list to guide artistic, intentional decisions.

Palm Beach living room of luxury interior design shows a comfortable seating area with white modern sofa, trimmed in black with olive round pillow, on a neutral textured rug with burl wood square coffee table layered with flowers, books, more.

Maxim & Manifesto Top 25 Design TIPS

  1. Quality over quantity. It's all about workmanship! We like to provide the best craftsmanship that your investment allows. If it means fewer things to mix in to the home design plan, so be it. Excellent, classic quality will outlast the trends, elevate your life and hopefully, provide pleasure for a very long time.

  2. Function over form. Simplify silhouettes. Not comfortable? Get rid of it. Life is for livability.

  3. Mod mix. Modern art definitely mixes well with antique furniture. It's the presentation that counts. Think gallery space, said the gallerist.

  4. Mix the metal. Yes, polished nickel can go with brushed champagne brass or black bronze. Please avoid shiny brass. Natural living finishes that age over time show patina.

  5. Mix high and low. No one will know.

  6. Let there be light. We are inspired by sunlight. Light sources should be plentiful in a space. Think light, shadows, reflectivity, and form. It's not enough to have large windows and only one lamp. Lighting affects the overall mood and is like jewelry to the home: it's essential, striking, and sometimes the most challenging aspect to get right.

  7. Edit. Just like overdressing, if an item seems out of place, or not quite perfect, remove it. Better to go without. Structural simplicity in architectural interior design can be refined, effortlessly chic, and should shine.

  8. Curate. Gather items to adore, especially art, little by little. Think curator vibes. True collector items. There is no reason to rush good design. Our design process is not fast. Hone your eye through exposure. Buy with your instinct as long as it is a decor item you can stare at for hours on end. Be bold in your authenticity. This is key to storytelling.

  9. Clutter be gone. Clean and clutter free makes any space seem larger.

  10. Clean. And clean again.

  11. No skimpy rugs in home design! Size matters. Nothing defines a space as well as a rug. Proportion and scale must be accurate to the room architecture.

  12. Trend lightly. Test trends in small doses. If you tire of it, you can quickly rid of it.

  13. Color theory matters. Color selection is one of the hardest tasks to master. If you can't master color undertones easily, ask an expert, ask us. Color is the largest, single, most impacting factor and crucial in an overall design scheme.

  14. White meet black. Every space needs contrast in the design, a ying to the yang. Too much neutrality can bore. A touch of black in a space adds depth. Too much black, for example all accessories in black, is oppressive. Strike a balance.

  15. Texture is touchy. In a good, unexpected way. Always use real, organic materials and elements for your design since they are sustainable and improve our well-being.

  16. Change is good. Don't live in a museum. It's freeing to be flexible and have a fresh outlook.

  17. Life imitates art. Or film. Some of the best design inspiration comes from icons and culture.

  18. One is good. Two is great. Symmetry is stupendous. But place small decorative objects in odd numbers, like one or three.

  19. Pink is prettier. Every masculine space can benefit from a well-placed feminine piece.

  20. Design aesthetic is reflective of your intent. Recognizing personal preference is vital in achieving a client's unique interior home dream come true. It's not about what we like in decorating for our clients.

  21. Minimalism is nothing without warmth and character. Enter: plants.

  22. Don't be bound by rules. We would never learn anything without taking risks.

  23. Inspiration comes from what you love. Start with something you already cherish for storytelling, like a family heirloom, a fabulous painting or a treasured old rug. Color palette should follow your choice. Read for more interior inspiration.

  24. See the world. It's the best way to feed your creativity and learn about sophisticated global aesthetic.

  25. Live a healthy Luxe Life: elevate your home with subtle grace, timeless, iconic style, sustainable materials, and wellness-driven interiors, to create functional, elegant spaces that that enhance daily moments while adding to your long-term value and enjoyment of home. Live authentically and intentionally.

At Domaine Luxe, design is not decoration—it is a discipline. Our philosophy is rooted in European design principles refined through lived experience abroad and translated for modern Palm Beach living. We believe the most beautiful interiors are those that endure: spaces shaped by proportion, material integrity, and intention, rather than trend.
