“Interior Designers Share 6 Bathroom Trends That'll Be Huge This Season and 4 That Will Be Out”

The online giant Insider asked Domaine Luxe head Interior Designer, Denise Jadd to give some insight as to what's hot and what's not in bathroom trends this season.

Bathrooms have become elevated living space in our safe havens. They serve as our at-home wellness spa, a sanctuary to escape the outside pressures, and a destination to relieve stress, besides being a place for hygiene.

Bath Trends: Elevating the Everyday Sanctuary

Bath trends may seem like fleeting fads, but their significance extends beyond mere aesthetics. In today's fast-paced world, creating a personal sanctuary within one's home has become essential for self-care and relaxation. As the bathroom blissfully transforms into a haven of tranquility, bath trends play a pivotal role in elevating this everyday space. They inspire us to reimagine traditional designs through innovative materials, captivating colors, and luxurious textures. Whether it's the soothing embrace of a freestanding bathtub or the invigorating ambiance of a rain shower, these trends cultivate a sense of wellbeing and enhance our overall bathing experience. By keeping up with bath trends, Domaine Luxe ensures the private oasis remains a timeless retreat, perfectly tailored to your individual needs.

  • Spa-style luxury, warm woods, soft curves, and unique, handcrafted elements are trending. Biophilia, incorporating wellness at home. Elevating everyday moments.

  • All-white bathrooms, being too sterile, shades of gray, black matte fixtures, and overly ornate designs are fading.

Biophilia in Baths

When you enter this luxury spa like, primary bath in Boca Raton, you feel an elevated moment at home. The large window view of the tropical trees allows for an immediate connection to the outdoors. Fresh spring blossoms in a vase, and eucalyptus in the shower address the senses, and add to the calm, serene and pleasing affect on our emotions.

We connect to the natural materials of marble, walnut wood, and handmade organic tile, all enhance the biophilic feel. The biomorphic forms, natural colors, patterns and textures stimulates our neuro-aesthetic response and science says this enhances a healthy home environ and peace of mind.

Here’s some of our quotes in the article:

"We are incorporating warm woods like oak or walnut in vanities which gives a modern, Japanese, or Scandinavian look," Jadd said. "The slat- and reeded-wood fronts have a wonderful tactile appeal with their organic texture and curvilinear shape."

Jadd particularly likes the versatility of today's warmer tones because the natural wood can be used in a minimal or maximalist design.

Jadd also said colorful, patterned, and unique tile is on the rise "as we appreciate the aesthetic of the handmade, seeking color, warmth, and comfort."

As an outgrowth of the wellness trend, Jadd said she's increasingly incorporating biophilic design, which involves living things, in the bathrooms she works on.

"We always add fresh plants or flowers, and a spray of eucalyptus for its scent," she said. She also sees a steam shower as the perfect place to use eucalyptus because the "aroma is great in a steam shower, just like in a spa."

What’s out, you wonder?

"Plain white subway tile for baths is out, and sterile, white vanities are also losing their luster, as we see the white-lacquer vanity trend fading away," Jadd told Insider.

Warm Woods in Baths

Minimalism in baths is trending, and wood adds a warm embrace whether in Scandinavian or Japanese modern, influenced design. Living in a spa at home has become sophisticated, with less clutter, and less heaviness. Storage is out of sight. The floating vanity hold a large vessel sink and only necessary items are in view with one beautiful and natural element of design, the orchid.

Embracing the Evolution: Understanding the Importance of Bath Trends

Keeping up with bath trends is crucial when planning a new bath as it enables individuals to stay ahead of the curve and create a space that embodies both style and functionality. Just like any other aspect of interior design, bath trends evolve with time, reflecting changes in lifestyle, design preferences, and technological advancements. By being aware of the latest trends, both what’s hot or not, one can adapt their bath design to current aesthetics, ensuring a contemporary and visually appealing space. Furthermore, staying informed about bath trends also offers the opportunity to incorporate innovative features and materials that enhance functionality and elevate the bathing experience. Whether it's incorporating the latest, sleek modern fixtures or opting for eco-friendly elements, being well-versed in bath trends guarantees a well-designed and future-proof bathing sanctuary.
