Bringing Palm Beach Coastal Chic Color Palettes Together: The Ultimate Guide to Luxe Interiors

Denise Jadd

When you think of the perfect sanctuary—a place where the gentle breeze whispers through open windows, sunlight dances across crisp linens, and every detail feels both effortless and elevated—you’re envisioning the essence of Coastal Chic. This design style, beloved in destinations like Palm Beach, Delray Beach, and Malibu, is more than a trend; it’s a lifestyle that celebrates tranquility, luxury, and the timeless beauty of the coast.

A sunlit coastal living room with white shiplap walls and natural fibers showcases a vertical palette of Benjamin Moore paint swatches in soft neutrals and tranquil blues, embodying relaxed Palm Beach style.

At Domaine Luxe, we believe that the right color palette is the heartbeat of this look. Let’s dive into how you can bring together a Coastal Chic color palette that transforms your home into a serene, sophisticated retreat.

What Is Coastal Chic?

Coastal Chic is the artful blend of breezy, laid-back vibes and high-end, thoughtful design choices. It’s inspired by the natural beauty of the shoreline—think sun-bleached driftwood, shimmering sea glass, and the endless expanse of sky and water. But unlike traditional nautical themes, Coastal Chic is subtle, modern, and luxurious, focusing on elevated materials, curated accessories, and a palette that soothes and inspires.

The Power of Color in Coastal Chic Design

Color is the foundation of any great interior, but in Coastal Chic design, it’s everything. The right hues can evoke the feeling of a lazy afternoon by the sea, the cool shade of a palm, or the warmth of sun-kissed sand. The Coastal Chic palette is all about balance—soft, airy tones juxtaposed with rich, grounding accents. It’s about creating a space that feels both open and intimate, relaxed yet refined.

Building Your Coastal Chic Color Palette

1. The Foundation: Soft Neutrals

Bright Palm Beach-style living room with white sofas, ocean view through tall windows, light wood beams, natural accents, and coastal decor.

An airy Palm Beach-inspired living room offers ocean views through large windows, featuring crisp white decor, light wood accents, cozy neutral sofas, and subtle coastal touches for a relaxed, elegant beachfront feel.

Start with a base of soft, sun-washed neutrals. These shades set the stage for the rest of your palette and provide a calming backdrop for bolder accents.

  • Whites & Off-Whites: Crisp white walls or cabinetry evoke the clean, airy feel of a beach house. Consider shades like Benjamin Moore’s “Chantilly Lace” or “Simply White” for a timeless look.

  • Beige & Sand: Warm, sandy tones mimic the shoreline and add a touch of coziness. These hues work beautifully in living rooms, bedrooms, and even kitchens.

  • Taupe & Driftwood: For a more sophisticated twist, incorporate taupe or driftwood-inspired grays. These colors ground the palette and add depth without feeling heavy.

2. Ocean-Inspired Blues

No Coastal Chic palette is complete without a range of blues, from the palest sky to the deepest navy.

  • Sky Blue: Light, airy blues reflect the open sky and create a sense of expansiveness.

  • Aqua & Seafoam: These soft, green-tinged blues are reminiscent of shallow waters and add a playful, refreshing touch.

  • Navy & Indigo: Use deeper blues as accents—think throw pillows, area rugs, or statement art. They add drama and sophistication while still feeling coastal.

3. Sun-Kissed Accents

Bring in warmth and contrast with sun-inspired hues.

  • Soft Coral & Blush: These gentle pinks and corals evoke sunrise and sunset on the water. Use them sparingly for a touch of romance—perhaps in artwork, textiles, or fresh flowers.

  • Golden Sand & Ochre: Hints of gold or ochre can be woven in through metallic finishes, woven baskets, or decorative objects. They add a subtle glow and keep the palette from feeling too cool.

A bright, airy living and dining space featuring crisp white walls, natural wood accents, and light coastal-inspired decor that evokes a luxe Palm Beach vibe.

4. Natural Greens

A touch of green connects your space to the lush vegetation of coastal landscapes.

  • Sage & Olive: Muted greens are perfect for upholstery, accent walls, or even cabinetry. They bring in a sense of calm and harmony.

  • Palm Leaf & Emerald: For a bolder statement, use deeper greens in artwork, wallpaper, or statement furniture pieces.

5. Earthy Browns & Greys

Balance your palette with earthy tones that echo driftwood, stone, and dune grass.

  • Weathered Wood: Incorporate wood tones in flooring, furniture, or beams for texture and warmth.

  • Stone & Pebble: Grey accents—whether in tile, countertops, or textiles—ground the space and add a modern edge.

How to Layer Coastal Chic Colors Like a Designer

Start with a Clean Canvas

Begin with your soft neutrals on the largest surfaces—walls, ceilings, and floors. This creates an open, airy base that instantly feels fresh and inviting.

Add Depth with Blues and Greens

Coastal chic Palm Beach living room with rattan chairs, blue doors, beaded chandelier, and airy, sunlit decor.

A modern coastal living room bathed in natural light, featuring rattan furniture, blue accent pillows, a striking beaded chandelier, and vibrant blue French doors.

Layer in ocean and vegetation-inspired hues through upholstery, rugs, and drapery. Don’t be afraid to mix different shades of blue and green; the key is to keep them muted and harmonious.

Introduce Warmth with Accents

Use sun-kissed colors and metallics in smaller doses—think throw pillows, vases, or picture frames. These accents should feel like a gentle kiss of sunshine, not an overwhelming burst.

Balance with Natural Textures

Coastal Chic isn’t just about color—it’s also about texture. Mix linen, cotton, jute, and rattan to add tactile interest. Weathered woods and stone finishes reinforce the organic, beachy vibe.

Curate, Don’t Clutter

Keep accessories minimal and meaningful. Choose pieces that tell a story—shells collected from travels, vintage glass bottles, or handcrafted ceramics. Let negative space be part of your design; it’s what makes the look feel effortless and sophisticated.

Room-by-Room: Applying the Coastal Chic Palette

  • Walls: Soft white or pale sand

  • Sofa: Linen in a light neutral or muted blue

Designer Insider Tips for a Luxe Coastal Chic Look

  • Go Monochrome: For a truly serene space, choose one color family (like blue or green) and layer different shades and textures throughout the room.

  • Embrace Imperfection: Weathered finishes, hand-thrown pottery, and natural materials add authenticity and character.

  • Play with Light: Use sheer curtains, mirrors, and glass to maximize natural light and create a sense of openness.

  • Statement Art: Large-scale coastal photography or abstract art in your palette’s colors can be a stunning focal point.

  • Mix Old and New: Blend vintage finds with modern pieces for a curated, lived-in feel.

Classic coastal living room with cream sofas, gold-framed mirror, intricate fireplace, and airy, timeless decor, ideal for Palm Beach luxury interiors.

An elegant living room with vintage charm, featuring neutral upholstered seating, an ornate gold mirror, a carved white fireplace, and soft natural light for a refined Palm Beach-inspired look.

Coastal Chic Color Trends for 2025

The Coastal Chic palette evolves each year, with new hues and combinations coming into vogue. For 2025, expect to see:

  • Cinnamon Slate: Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year, a sophisticated blend of plum and brown, pairs beautifully with soft blues and sandy neutrals for a fresh twist on coastal.

  • Bold Blues: Deeper, more saturated blues are making waves, especially when balanced with crisp whites and natural textures.

  • Earthy Greens: Sage and olive continue to be favorites, bringing a touch of the outdoors in.

  • Warm Metallics: Gold and brass accents add a hint of glamour without overpowering the relaxed vibe.

Bringing It All Together: Creating Your Coastal Chic Sanctuary

The magic of Coastal Chic lies in its ability to transport you—to evoke the feeling of a seaside escape no matter where you live. By thoughtfully curating your color palette, layering textures, and choosing meaningful accents, you can create a home that feels both luxurious and deeply personal.

Whether you’re redesigning a single room or your entire home, start with the colors that speak to you. Let the coastline inspire your choices, but don’t be afraid to add your own twist. After all, the most beautiful spaces are the ones that reflect your unique story.

Biophilic Design Used in Interiors & Staging

Denise Jadd

The botanical influence in biophilc design by Denise Jadd, , principal Designer at Domaine Luxe!

The botanical influence in biophilc design by Denise Jadd, , principal Designer at Domaine Luxe!

🌿 Biophilic design is incorporating the use of your natural surroundings outside, and bringing that influence into your home design plan. The use of Biophilic design in homes and businesses has become a huge trend in the last few years, as it contributes to our wellness. It is a proven method to help us live, work, learn and thrive better!

Biophilc staging technique on the patio.

Biophilc staging technique on the patio.

🌿 Setting the green tone in your home just makes sense, as we all want a connection to nature. It’s about instilling calm, a respite from our work, and our world’s industrialized, high speed hustle and bustle. It makes us slow down, take pause, and concentrate on and respond to nature. Like environmental psychology, and  neuroaesthetics, it’s naturally restorative. It can also aid in selling a home, just like in this outdoor living space we created in the photo above, where our staged home sold in just 1 day! With more of us at home and skipping travel this summer, this outdoor space doubles the home’s living area, allows for more freedom, vitality, and connection to the great outdoors. We have offered up this biophilic practice as a tip for helping others to stage their homes, and was just quoted by Redfin, the real estate portal, on this topic. Keep reading for more details on this.

🌿 The biophilc concept defined reflects how it is used within the building industry, both public and academic spaces, commercial and residential real estate alike, to increase the occupant’s connectivity to the outside environment through the use of direct nature, indirect nature, and it’s natural conditions. This example above proves having these expansive, bifold doors and an enormous skylight illuminating your kitchen space is an architecturally adept way to merge your inside with your outside. The entire space becomes seamless, where the shell seems to be opening to the sky and beyond, exposing the great outdoors.

A beachy, seaside retreat, filled with natural woods, wood beams, organic lighting, is filled with biophilc design touches.

A beachy, seaside retreat, filled with natural woods, wood beams, organic lighting, is filled with biophilc design touches.

🌿 We like to use these techniques to make a house appear more homey. Organic elements, reflecting the outside trees, flora, and fauna combined with natural yet made into decor elements like the woven basket, wood table, rope and shells all contribute to this wonderful feeling. Here, we rely on a potted palm tree to hug a corner, defining the boundary of the space. On the weathered wood coffee table, a fresh heather blooms happily, graced by a few well chosen, seaside decor pieces, like the shell tassel and a glass, rope handled hurricane lantern. A touch of real plants naturally lifts our spirits as we feel connected to nature. .

🌿 Well placed, simple greenery can be elegant and dramatic, especially in a Murano glass, one of a kind, handblown vase. The bold, metal detailed cabinet, offset by the quieter abstract painting, and fine marble sculpture, is gently enhanced by the fresh, green floral leaves. It can lead the eye through the surroundings, and direct the viewer for a specific experience or focal view.

🌿 Some floral placement is integral to enhance the decor, and amplify the impressive, overall design results. The fresh proteas seem to be made for this abstract, mixed media floral inspired painting in this elegantly designed, classic modern dining room. Botanical linens on the table, or floral rug can carry the theme throughout.

Perhaps it’s time for a green wall and planter to spruce up your space! Here a botanical wallpaper placed in the arched niche has a palm pattern, which is repeated in the live garden on left. Notice the rich mix of green upholstery and blonde wood tones all around, offset by a deep gray.

🌿 Other times, we can use one perfectly large, green leaf displayed in a mod vase to convey the feeling of nature. Limit the window treatments, open the doors, and welcome the pretty view and let sunshine in.

As mentioned above, we are happy to share we got quoted about using Biophilic Design in staging in a recent article, which appeared on Redfin, “Staging A House On A Budget”. Here is the quote:

Incorporate biophilic design. This design approach seeks to connect the outdoors with people indoors. Open all your window treatments, let in the sunshine and the view, and bring the relativity of nature in with a few, well placed live houseplants, or fake, silk trees to set the green tone. This enhances vitality and psychological wellbeing, as buyers judge homes with all of their senses. Just be sure to avoid heavily fragranced plants or flowers because some people are sensitive to strong scents. It pays to be green in staging, as gorgeous greenery will always be in fashion.

🌿 Make it a beautifully, biophilcally designed day, keeping it green!…💚

Interior Design Luxury 3D renders That Feel Like Home

Denise Jadd

Luxury 3D Render by Domaine Luxe shows the potential of space.

Luxury 3D Render by Domaine Luxe shows the potential of space.

Is it starting to look up with this uncertain real estate market? Here’s something we thought could be an opportunity for clarity:

We create hyper-realistic, three dimensional photographic images, or
Interior Design Luxury 3D Renders, that feel like home.

It’s not only for our home sellers, investors and builders, but also for our Realtors, whose clients may be hesitant to buy or sell now.

Domaine Luxe has always offered Luxury 3D Renders for our design clientele with full service Interior Design projects. With renders, both buyers and home owners can visualize how a room could be, how the space and scale will flow, and how it will function. The colors, finishes, fabrics, furnishings and lighting, joined with our on trend designer touches implemented into the floor plan, help clients imagine the potential of an empty or dated space. As we know, these neglected rooms don’t convey much emotion. The results are about beauty and practicality, and in the real estate market, it combines together for the buyer to envision the space as their very own.

Three dimensional rendering uses CAD (computer-aided design), or computer graphics that represent mathematical data in the process of converting a 3D model of shapes into images that are 2D digital images on a computer. When coupled with great design, that’s a whole lotta tech for an artistic representation brought to life.

Interior renderings are defined as images where the vantage point or viewing angle is located inside of the structure or house.

We start the process by determining the details of the project and it’s desired outcome; we gather floorplans, CADs, and photos of the space, with different camera angles showing alternative view options and perspectives. The next step is we get to work on the design plan sourcing finishes and decorative elements to be implemented. This is needed at the beginning for illustrative purposes. This can take some time, from days to weeks depending on the scope of the work. Then we create a “Clay”, or a white space.

The Clay before finalizing shows different perspective angles.

The Clay before finalizing shows different perspective angles.

Once the shape of items are placed into the floorplan, the modeling takes form. Reflection, shading and texture are what makes these renders pop. Materials shimmer, and wood tones look richer. Illumination and how the light is transported, with the increased ability of depth visibility is the final product. Daylight, sunset, or nighttime can be experienced as it comes to life. Which mood do you prefer? The 3D is from the perspective, and we achieve great views. Long rooms can be seen from far away. Rendering generating times can be several days for in depth, complex rooms.

Renderings are usually created for presentation, marketing and design analysis purposes.

  • Still Rendering

  • 3D Walk through and fly by animations (movie)

  • Virtual Tours

  • Floor Plans

  • Photo realistic 3D Rendering

  • Panoramic Renderings

  • Light and Shadow Rendering

  • Renovation Renderings

It also enables clients to make design related decisions well before the property is actually built, or before demo begins. This aids in experimenting with building design and its visual aspects.

When looking at the room below, you can see how viewing two alternative plans with slight differences can truly help to form an opinion about which design a homeowner might want to choose to live with. Which design appeals to you more?

Luxury 3D Renders done to our highest design standards could be just the right solution for sellers! Differentiate your listing with Domaine Luxe’s high quality architectural and Interior Design Luxury 3D Renders modeled for your property, lavished with exquisite designer details and artistic textures. This is not like the average, commercial virtual staging, these renders are finished with high end, to the design trade only, bespoke furnishings. Everything is custom designed around the aesthetic of the space and what the house needs to help prove and show off its worth.

3D renderings play a major role in real estate marketing and sales. In this example, when looking at the room below, which listing photo would be easier for you to sell?

It’s All In The Material Mix: How To Mix Patterns Like An Interior Designer

Denise Jadd

How to mix and use patterns in your space.

How to mix and use patterns in your space.

Mixing patterns to achieve balance, harmony, movement, color and contrast in your home furnishings and decor can be a little tricky, but a savvy Interior Designer knows the rules, but breaks them like an artist. Here’s some design tips utilizing some of the main principals or rules for pattern balance and alignment in interior design to spruce up your nest, and to help you see how we see.

✨Start with your neutral color. Choose two accent colors. ...

✨Use at least two to three patterns in a room and vary the scale. ...

✨One of the patterns should have all three colors. ...

✨Try to use colors that are the same intensity of hue. ...

✨Vary the types of the patterns. Florals match well with stripes or small geometric patterns, paisley goes well with herringbone or stripes, ikat pairs well with natural pattern or stripes, animal prints goes well with paisley and graphic prints. ...

✨Distribute patterns evenly throughout the room, this keeps your eye moving creating a flowing rhythm of organized movement and continuity of visual repetitions throughout your space. ...

✨Don't place too many uncoordinated or random patterns on top of each other, as this randomizes your room rhythm, instead break them up with solids so your eyes have somewhere to pause. ...

✨Patterns don't have to be full of different colors, they can be tone on tone. ...

✨Matching draperies to one pattern used in upholstery or pillows can make a material impact. More can be more! Don’t forget the trim for a designer touch...

✨Remember, graphic pattern can be in your wallpaper and rugs or carpets, too, which can greatly alter your perception of the space.

✨Restraint can be great, but know that maximalism of curated collections and intensely saturated colors is trending. Mix on!

Need help bringing it all together perfecting your finishing touches or perhaps you need to start fresh, and need a whole new space to enjoy? Our mission is a well designed home for all.
